Guys, whether you've been with her just a couple of days or a number of years, you know that she is the one. 1. Find the Perfect Ring

This may seem like a daunting task, but some women prefer that they pick out their ring. You may be wondering how to accomplish this feat without her knowing. The key is to take her with you to look at rings and watch to see which style and type she likes. You will then be able to narrow down the type of ring to buy when you go back without her. She may even tell you the exact ring that she wants!

2. Make it a Surprise
Your proposal should be a surprise, meaning that she shouldn't know that it is coming. You should have talked about getting engaged by this point. Find a time that she won’t be expecting it and go for it!

3. Be Prepared
Trust us, she will know if you came unprepared because she’s been dreaming of this moment since she was four. Proposing is not something you do at the spur of the moment. Make a plan and rehearse it before the real thing. Being able to see that you put a lot of time into your proposal will make her very happy.

4. Be Creative
As we mentioned before, she’s been dreaming of this moment since she was four! Find a way to be creative. We recommend you don’t propose in public and you don’t have to do something crazy either. Pick a place that means something special to the two of you and incorporate things from your relationship into it! This will make it personal and shows how much you care for her.

5. Get on One Knee
Once the stage is set you can get on one knee! Be sure to survey the area before getting down on one knee. Make sure there are no obstructions in the way but be sure to do this without her noticing. Nobody wants to kneel in a puddle! Once you are on your knee take her hand and present her with the ring.

6. Tell Her Why You Want to Marry Her
This may be the most important part of the entire proposal. Make sure you tell her why you want to marry her. Give this some real thought and make sure you say everything you want to! You will both remember this moment for the rest of your lives.

Months Before...
This tip is often overlooked and can cause a great deal of discomfort. If you bought new shoes for your big day make sure you break them in beforehand. This will help you to avoid feeling awkward and will take away any chance of having sore feet. We also strongly recommend that you take up your family and friends on the help that they offer. Not only does this take items off your plate but your family and friends will feel more involved in the wedding.

Night Before...
One of the most important things you need to do before your wedding is attempt to get a good nights sleep. This is a hard task and can be almost impossible but a small amount of sleep is better than none at all. We also recommend not scheduling your bachelor or bachelorette party the night before your big day.

Day of...
You should also eat a breakfast high in protein and complex carbs because they take a while to break down and will keep you full. This is especially important because the bride and groom can go long periods of time without being able to eat. Our next tip is especially important for the bride. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready. Try to determine how long it will take you to complete each task and then give yourself extra time. Also make sure you factor in travel time when planning all of your appointments. It is better to be early than run out of time. There is no worse feeling than having to rush getting ready for your wedding.

Reception...

Make sure to spend time with your parents and your new spouse. The night is going to fly by and it is a big night for your parents as well. One of the highlights of the reception will be the speeches by the best man and maid of honor. More often than not they are going to try and say something to embarrass you. Laugh it off rather than getting upset. People will forget what they said but they will not forget a bride or groom who caused a scene.
