A Pool is the Ultimate Summer Escape!

Well, it's finally here... Summer has officially begun! The kids are out of school and perhaps they are already starting to get bored. With the hot weather outside, what better way to spend a day in the sun than in the swimming pool? At Eagle Trace Golf & Event Center, our pool is a great place to celebrate a birthday party, or to simply relax and have fun in the water! 

Eagle Trace is home to two heated outdoor pools. One is for the "big kids" and the other is designated for the youngsters. The pools are open all day, every day. Memorial Day celebrated the opening of both of our pools, and they will remain open through Labor Day. Spend an entire day at the pool for a daily fee of $3.50, or purchase a punch card option for frequent occurrences. 

Having a party, event, or group get-together? Why not have it at the pool? The pool may be rented for any type of event happening in your life. For your next corporate event, golf outing, wedding, or birthday party, consider a pool-side environment. Our pool party packages include everything you need for a memorable day. We furnish large pizzas, soda's (plus free refills), and cake from Dairy Queen! Various packages are offered to accommodate for the size of your party.

Golf Etiquette 101

Golf season is here and we can’t wait to see you at Eagle Trace for a round on the links! Before you begin swinging the clubs again and fixing those hooks and slices, it is important to go over one main topic: Golf Etiquette. Golf has been called the gentleman’s game and comes with a set of standard rules that keep the integrity of the game intact.

Safety: First and foremost, be aware of yourself & others while playing a round of golf. Make sure there is nobody standing close by when you are going to swing your clubs, as well as any loose objects that could accidentally be hit. When teeing off, be sure the group in front of you is out of range before taking your shot. If by chance a stroke may endanger someone, alert them! By doing this you can make sure you don’t accidently hit somebody with a golf ball and avoid any injuries.

Consideration for Other Players: When it is not your turn be sure to be quiet and avoid actions that may be distracting. This also means you should not tee up your ball until it is your turn and you should never stand in front or behind the person teeing off.

Pace of Play: We also feel the need to stress playing at a good pace! This is important because courses book tee times out at certain times so that they can fit as many groups as possible. If you are playing slower than the group behind you let them play through. This will keep things at the right pace and will not upset any golfers. Be ready to play when it is your turn & leave your bags/carts in a position where you can easily move to the next hole.

If you lose a ball in the water or out of bounds, don’t spend more than five minutes looking for it. If this happens to you, play a provisional ball instead so you do not slow down your group and all the groups behind you!

Maintaining the Course: We can’t stress enough how important it is to care for the course! If you hit a divot with any of your shots please be sure to replace and fix them. This helps out the grounds crew as well as the golfers behind you. Not only is this good etiquette, but it is a way to pay it forward for the next time you play. The same goes for greens and bunkers. If your ball leaves a mark on the green be sure to fix it properly and rake all bunkers after you are done! When driving a cart, use the cart path and remain on the far edges of the fairways.

Guys, whether you've been with her just a couple of days or a number of years, you know that she is the one. Love is a beautiful thing and you can’t wait to share your life together, but there is just one problem. How do you propose without being cliche while still being romantic? Follow these tips to the perfect proposal!


1. Find the Perfect Ring

This may seem like a daunting task, but some women prefer that they pick out their ring. You may be wondering how to accomplish this feat without her knowing. The key is to take her with you to look at rings and watch to see which style and type she likes. You will then be able to narrow down the type of ring to buy when you go back without her. She may even tell you the exact ring that she wants!

2. Make it a Surprise
Your proposal should be a surprise, meaning that she shouldn't know that it is coming. You should have talked about getting engaged by this point. Find a time that she won’t be expecting it and go for it!

3. Be Prepared
Trust us, she will know if you came unprepared because she’s been dreaming of this moment since she was four. Proposing is not something you do at the spur of the moment. Make a plan and rehearse it before the real thing. Being able to see that you put a lot of time into your proposal will make her very happy.

4. Be Creative
As we mentioned before, she’s been dreaming of this moment since she was four! Find a way to be creative. We recommend you don’t propose in public and you don’t have to do something crazy either. Pick a place that means something special to the two of you and incorporate things from your relationship into it! This will make it personal and shows how much you care for her.

5. Get on One Knee
Once the stage is set you can get on one knee! Be sure to survey the area before getting down on one knee. Make sure there are no obstructions in the way but be sure to do this without her noticing. Nobody wants to kneel in a puddle! Once you are on your knee take her hand and present her with the ring.

6. Tell Her Why You Want to Marry Her
This may be the most important part of the entire proposal. Make sure you tell her why you want to marry her. Give this some real thought and make sure you say everything you want to! You will both remember this moment for the rest of your lives.

Wedding Tips

Your wedding will be the happiest and most stressful days of your life. To help make your day less stressful, we have compiled a list of tips. By following these you will help ensure your wedding runs smoothly and you enjoy every minute of it.

Months Before...
This tip is often overlooked and can cause a great deal of discomfort. If you bought new shoes for your big day make sure you break them in beforehand. This will help you to avoid feeling awkward and will take away any chance of having sore feet. We also strongly recommend that you take up your family and friends on the help that they offer. Not only does this take items off your plate but your family and friends will feel more involved in the wedding.

Night Before...
One of the most important things you need to do before your wedding is attempt to get a good nights sleep. This is a hard task and can be almost impossible but a small amount of sleep is better than none at all. We also recommend not scheduling your bachelor or bachelorette party the night before your big day.

Day of...
You should also eat a breakfast high in protein and complex carbs because they take a while to break down and will keep you full. This is especially important because the bride and groom can go long periods of time without being able to eat. Our next tip is especially important for the bride. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready. Try to determine how long it will take you to complete each task and then give yourself extra time. Also make sure you factor in travel time when planning all of your appointments. It is better to be early than run out of time. There is no worse feeling than having to rush getting ready for your wedding.

Reception...

Make sure to spend time with your parents and your new spouse. The night is going to fly by and it is a big night for your parents as well. One of the highlights of the reception will be the speeches by the best man and maid of honor. More often than not they are going to try and say something to embarrass you. Laugh it off rather than getting upset. People will forget what they said but they will not forget a bride or groom who caused a scene.
